General Dynamics announced its new Itronix GD3015 semi-rugged tablet PC, offering the full functionality of a notebook with the critical components and options needed by mobile professionals working in public safety, utilities, transportation, warehousing and industry field services. The durable device weighs less than 3 pounds. It is MIL-STD-810F compliant for shock, vibration, rain, sand and dust and IP54 compliant for dust and water resistance.
The Itronix GD3015 is powered by Intel Atom Z530 1.6GHz processor, 2GB of RAM, integrated graphics. It is equipped with a 1.8-inch 160GB hard drive or optional 64GB SSD, and a 8GB CompactFlash card. The tablet comes with a 10.4-inch sunlight viewable, resistive touchscreen display with 1024×768 resolution. It supports Bluetooth, WiFi and optional GPRS/HSPDA mobile connectivity. You can find fingerprint reader, PC Card Type II slot, SD card slot, USB 2.0 HOST connector, internal speaker, RS232 connector and mono microphone.
With a modular design, users can expand the functionality of the GD3015 by adding optional accessory modules such as 2 Megapixel webcam, GPS, 1D barcode scanner, RFID receiver, and MSR (Track 1+2+3 magnetic stripe card reader). The semi-rugged Itronix GD3015 tablet is priced at $2400.
