Lenovo IdeaTab S2109 9.7-inch Tablet with Android 4.0

Lenovo brings a new Android 4.0 tablet to the US, the 9.7-inch IdeaTab S2109 (aka IdeaPad S2) built for entertainment. Other than the large 9.7-inch 1024×768 IPS HD touchscreen, the tablet also sports four SRS surround sound speakers and offers micro HDMI output for you to bring 1080p Full HD content to a HDTV or monitor. The S2109 has a slim, curved unibody design and measures just 1/3-inch thin and weights 1.27lbs.

This new IdeaTab is powered by TI’s OMAP 4430 dual-core 1GHz processor and 1GB of RAM. It is loaded with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system with Lenovo’s user interface and includes Lenovo App Shop and the Android Market for downloading apps. The S2109 supports Bluetooth 3.0, and WiFi connectivity and comes with 1.3 Megapixel front camera for video chat. It gets 16GB or 32GB internal storage and supports microSD for expansion.

The Lenovo IdeaTab S2109 16GB model is priced at $349 and the 32B model at $399.

Techno Source has launched the Kurio 7, an Android tablet designed for families with children, which is now available at Toysrus. As a tablet for kids, the 7-inch device comes pre-loaded with educational content, provided by MrNussbaum.com, video content from ToonGoggles and e-books from Aldiko to make learning fun and easy. It also comes with full versions of games like Angry Birds, Fruit Ninja, Doodle Jump, Cut-the-Rope, Where’s My Water, and World of Goo. Of course, you can also use the tablet with your kids to surf the web, take photos and record video and watch movies.

The Kurio 7 runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on a 1.2Ghz processor with dedicated 3D graphics chip and 1GB of RAM. It comes with 4GB internal storage and supports microSD card up to 32GB. The tablet sports a 7-inch 800×480 5-point multitouch capacitive touchscreen, a 2.1 Megapixel main camera on the rear and a 0.3 Megapixel front camera for video chat. It supports WiFi 802.11b/g/n and provides HDMI output so kids can learn on a bigger screen.

To protect kids away from unwanted content, parents can create up to eight fully customizable profiles that allow separate settings for each member of family with comprehensive content and app control and filtering, time management and a password-protected Parental Area. A silicone bumper case is included to protect the Android 4.0 tablet from drops and bumps.

Matsunichi MarquisPad MP977 10-inch Dual-core Android 4.0 Tablet

Matsunichi, a brand based in Hong Kong, is launching in the US market a new 9.7-inch tablet running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Known as MarquisPad MP977, the device is powered by a Texas Instruments dual-core 1.2GHz processor and 1GB of DDR2 RAM. Its 2GB internal memory is probably not enough for you to install games and apps, so there is a microSD card slot with support for up to 32GB cards. A 2GB microSD is included.

The MP977 sports a 9.7-inch 1024×768 LED-backlit multi-touch display and a VGA front-facing camera that makes video chat possible. It supports Bluetooth 2.1 and WiFi 802.11b/g, and comes with built-in speakers and microphone. Instead of micro USB used on most Android devices, the MarquisPad uses a 30-pin connector port for charging and connection. It comes with a 4000mA/Hrs battery.

The Matsunichi MarquisPad MP977 comes in black, silver and bronze. It is affordable at $249. Matsunichi will also release later this year the MarquisPad MP979 with similar features, which sports 1.5Ghz dual-core processor and 8GB internal memory; and the MarquisPad MP1010 with 10.1-inch screen, 1.5GHz CPU and 10GB storage.
