Matsunichi, a brand based in Hong Kong, is launching in the US market a new 9.7-inch tablet running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Known as MarquisPad MP977, the device is powered by a Texas Instruments dual-core 1.2GHz processor and 1GB of DDR2 RAM. Its 2GB internal memory is probably not enough for you to install games and apps, so there is a microSD card slot with support for up to 32GB cards. A 2GB microSD is included.
The MP977 sports a 9.7-inch 1024×768 LED-backlit multi-touch display and a VGA front-facing camera that makes video chat possible. It supports Bluetooth 2.1 and WiFi 802.11b/g, and comes with built-in speakers and microphone. Instead of micro USB used on most Android devices, the MarquisPad uses a 30-pin connector port for charging and connection. It comes with a 4000mA/Hrs battery.
The Matsunichi MarquisPad MP977 comes in black, silver and bronze. It is affordable at $249. Matsunichi will also release later this year the MarquisPad MP979 with similar features, which sports 1.5Ghz dual-core processor and 8GB internal memory; and the MarquisPad MP1010 with 10.1-inch screen, 1.5GHz CPU and 10GB storage.
