Apple quietly introduces the Smart Case (model MD455) for iPad 2 and 3rd generation iPad. While the Smart Cover protects only the touchscreen, the new Smart Case adds a back cover to protect iPad’s aluminum back. Like the Smart Cover, the case can also fold into a stand for reading, typing, and watching videos, and will automatically wakes and sleeps iPad on open and close.
The Smart Case is made from polyurethane and comes in six colors – light gray, dark gray, blue, green, pink and red. You can even personalize the case with free laser engraving. The price is $49.
