Kobo is going to release in October the Kobo Glo e-book reader designed to deliver comfortable e-reading experience. The reader features ComfortLight, which, like Amazon’s Kindle Paperwhite, uses front light technology to direct light at the page instead of user’s eyes for comfortable reading with eyestrain. The ComfortLight also has micro-thin hard coating for durability and even light distribution. The reader has a 6-inch no-glare XGA 1024×768 e-ink Pearl touchscreen display. Users can create their own ideal reading experience with a choice of 7 additional font styles and 24 sizes, adjustable weight and sharpness settings. The Glo is powered by 1GHz processor for smooth operation. It supports WiFi 802.11b/g/n wireless connection allowing users to explore download e-books from Kobo ebookstore. The 2GB internal memory can store over 2000 e-books and users can add a microSD/SDHC card up to 32GB if they need more spaces. The Glo’s battery provides up to 55 hours of continuous use with light on or over 1 month with WiFi and light turned off. Kobo Glo will be available on 1 October for $129.99, and comes in Pink Sunset, Blue Moon, Silver Star colors. [Kobo] |
